1- MOA is preparing to promote the rural woman's developmental role in the society.

Basing on the plan of administration of extension and rural development, the MOA is preparing to promote the rural woman's developmental role in her society through holding developmental courses throughout Gaza governorates.

2- MOA condemns Israeli Violations against Gaza Farmers

The MOA condemned the continuous Israeli violations against the Palestinian farmers in Gaza and west bank, confirming that these practices aims at tightening the grip on them and destroying their assets.

3- Flowers, Strawberry, and Spices Exported to Europe via the Karam Abu Salem "Kerem Shalom" commercial crossing

According to the chief of coordinating goods entrance into Gaza, truck loaded of agricultural and commercial goods are supposed to enter today, pointing out that one truck loaded with flowers, strawberry and green spices is allowed to be exported to Europe.

4- Human Rights Centre to Call for end of violations against Gaza fishermen

The Palestinian centre for human rights denounced the continuation of Israeli violations against the Gaza fishermen off Gaza waters. They expressed deep concern for the increase of these violations which caused the detaining of two fishermen during their work in sea within 6 miles off Gaza shore.

5- Delegation from the world environment checks the red palm weevil traps

A delegation from the world environment in accompany with a number of agronomists visited the red palm weevil traps along Gaza bordering line with Egypt which have been put in coordination between "Al Ahleya society for development of palm and dates" and the MOA under the emergency plan to protect the date palm sector.

1- MOA celebrates the beginning of harvest season of melon and watermelon in Al Bukei'a plain

Ministry of Agriculture celebrated the season in the presence of Ramallah Minister of Agriculture, Tubas deputy governor, Al Bukei'a farmers, a group from JICA, Japanese expert, the staff of plant production within the ministry, and farmers from northern valley, Tammoun.

2- Salfit's Agricultural administration held training course on Jam Processing in Bruqin

The directorate of Salfit held a training course on Jam processing, at the headquarter of Women's Charitable Bruqin society in attendance of 15 trainer women. The head of rural development department talked about the importance of jams, necessary materials need for their preparing, and procedures needed during processing and packing.

3- Directorate of Ramallah and Al Bira held training course on "broiler poultry breeding"

The directorate of Ramallah, in cooperation with Abwain women's society implemented a training course on "broiler poultry breeding. 16 women attended this training which is viewed as compatible to the policy of directorate aiming at developing the livestock sector and farmers.

4- Directorate of Ramallah and Al Bira launches sheep artificial insemination project

The directorate of Ramallah and in cooperation with the Palestinian centre for livestock development started the implementation of artificial insemination for 600 heads of sheep belong to 40 farmers with the aim of improving sheep strains and increasing their productivity.

5- Wheat consumption is 10 times more than production

In light of the increasing demand of wheat, many Palestinian voices called for the necessity to support this type of agriculture consequently to its harvesting season which faces many challenges mainly the Israeli occupation. The Palestinians produce nearly 40000 tons of wheat, and consume more than 360 000 tons, which means that they produce 10% less than their consumption.

1- Occupation confiscates an agricultural umbrella in Beit Lahem

The occupation soldiers confiscated an agricultural umbrella belongs to a citizen in Beit Lahem. It was established after the destruction of an ancient agricultural room by occupation.

2- The occupation detains two fishermen off Gaza shore and seize their boat

The Israeli occupation stopped two fishermen off the Gaza shore. The responsible of the Palestinian Fishing society said that Israeli gunboats open fire towards the fishermen boats in the northern west of Gaza.

3- Israeli settlers cut olive trees in Beit Ommar

Israeli settlers managed to cut 20 olive trees. The land where the trees were destroyed were located alongside the Israeli settlement of Bat Ayn.

1- Red Palm Weevil destroys 246 farms in Saudi Arabia

The director of dates committee, al Qusaim room announced the infestation of 246 farms with red palm weevil in the recent time, pointing out that the number is on rise because of the absence of any preventive procedures to protect date alm farms.

2- Kuwait Bans the Imports of Live Birds from Spain

The public authority for Agriculture affairs and fish resources banned the imports of live birds and eggs from Spain.

3- Agreement between Kuwait and Taiwan in the field of Under- cover cultivation

the research institute signed an agreement for cooperation with the industrial technology research institute- Taiwan in different research domains related to the Under- cover cultivation. A joint project is to be implemented using a particular kind of glass developed by the industrial technology research institute. the glass has the ability to allow light enter through the greenhouses.

4- Egypt could be harmed by Ethiopian dam: Irrigation ministry

Sherif Mohamady, representative of Egypt's irrigation minister, stated that scientific studies have proven that there may be problems in the future for Egypt if the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, currently under construction on the Blue Nile in Ethiopia, be completed.

5- Egypt Imports 34 000 tons of Meat to be Prepared for Ramadan

Egypt has started to import meat for the local market including 18 000 frozen cow meat, 226 tons from Brazil and Argentine.

6- Egypt: 11 poultry farms are declared free of bird flu

The veterinary services department declared that 11 poultry farms are free of bird flu.

7- Egypt: exports of potatoes increase to 341 000 tons

According to the director of central administration, exports of potatoes reached 341 000 tons compared to the last year exports which were 300 000 tons.

1- Agricultural commercial exchange between Jordan and the European Union

The Jordanian ministry of agriculture discussed with the European Union the needs to develop health, plant health and information systems related to farm management and post harvest, and ways of facilitating export to external markets.

2- FAO: Syria crisis has severe impact on livelihood of Lebanese farmers

In a press release by UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), it said "The Syria conflict has a severe impact on the lives and livelihoods of neighboring farmers communities in rural neighboring Lebanon.

1- Egypt produces new varieties resistant to heat

The head of Egyptian agricultural research said that the agricultural research center is working on producing new varieties of wheat strains resistant to high temperature so as to increase the production asserting that the currently existing varieties' production decreases by 12% due to the climate changes.

2- A new Generation of salt tolerant rice

Scientists at the International Rice Research Institute succeeded to produce new variety of rice that can bear high salinity and can be cultivated in coastal regions which soil became of high salinity due to seawater encroachment.
